Somehow the Urkelbot wasn’t the weirdest thing on TGIF!

1. Baby Talk

ABC Television

ABC Television

Series run: March 8, 1991–May 8, 1992

Plot: Did you see Look’s Who’s Talking? Yes. Well this series had the exact same plot, except Tony Danza voiced the baby instead of Bruce Willis.

The similarities between the two weren’t coincidental; the series was actually adapted from the movie.

Weird level: 5 out of 10. Mainly because the talking baby gags wore off quick and the series was completely rebooted in its second season, which included the addition of then-unknown actor George Clooney.

Touchstone Television

Series run: Sept. 26, 1997–Feb. 13, 1998

Plot: After dying from eating a six-month-old hamburger, Marty DePolo is sent back to earth to be the teen guardian angel to his friend, Steve Beauchamp, who, weirdly, also happens to be the same kid who dared him to eat the hamburger!

Weird level: 8 out of 10. A teen’s death seems to be a really fucked up plot for a family comedy.

Series run: July 19–Aug 23, 1991

Plot: A fictional 1950s TV sitcom family, the Nielsens, move to the real world, where they try to be incognito but are recognized by their nerdy teenage next door neighbor.

Also, each episode guest starred a different classic TV sitcom actor reprising his or her iconic role.

Weird level: 7 out of 10. It was really depressing seeing all these aging classic TV actors reprising their roles decades after their shows went off the air.

Series run: Sept. 26, 1997–June 23, 1998

Plot: After unknowingly buying a magical rug, (no lamp?!) a family accidentally releases a genie (that looks a lot like Yanni) that has been imprisoned for 2,000 years —I’m sure mayhem ensued.

Weird level: 6 out of 10. This was just a rehashed I Dream of Jeannie.

Jim Henson Productions / Via

Series run: March 8, 1996 – Feb. 8, 1998

Plot: An updated version of the classic Muppet Show, the show featured a wide range of guests stars, ranging from Sandra Bullock and Jason Alexander to Cindy Crawford and Prince.

Weird level: 4 out of 10. For the record: The Muppets aren’t weird, but the show did not fit among TGIF’s sitcom lineup.

Series run: March 15–Aug. 31, 1996

Plot: After being abducted by a single alien mom — named Cookie — single human dad, Doug, falls in love, and they decide to marry and blend their families like an intergalactic Brady Bunch. Of course hilarity (?) ensued.

Weird level: 10 out of 10. This show wasn’t just awful; it also made absolutely NO SENSE. I mean how did Cookie birth those kids?!

Also, I’m convinced the character of Baby Bobut is the original inspiration for Family Guy’s Stewie.
